Santaris Pharma A/S is rapidly becoming the preferred partner for the development of RNA-targeted medicines having established partnerships with five pharmaceutical companies over the past five years. These partnerships further validate the broad utility of the Santaris Pharma A/S LNA Drug Platform and Drug Discovery Engine to develop effective and well tolerated LNA-based drugs across multiple disease areas for its partners.

Partnerships are a critical element of the Company's strategy to leverage its LNA Drug Platform and Drug Discovery Engine to deliver on the promise of RNA-targeted drugs, today.

  • Exclusivity on targets, not therapeutic areas
  • Design and selection from optimal drug candidates
  • Shared responsibility for further development (pharmacology, toxicology, late stage preclinical and clinical)
  • Access and exclusivity research FTEs and downstream milestones and royalties

miRagen collaboration (2010) - drug candidates against a limited number of microRNA targets for the treatment of cardiovascular disease

  • miRagen licenses rights to utilize LNA Drug Platform for specific microRNA targets implicated in CV disease
  • Santaris Pharma A/S received a minority equity interest in miRagen, eligible to receive milestone payments and royalties
 

Shire collaboration (2009) - lead candidates against up to five targets

  • Santaris Pharma A/S responsible for design and selection of lead candidates
  • Shire responsible for pharmacology and further development
  • Upfront/milestones in excess of $380m, FTE funding; undisclosed royalties
  • Worldwide commercial rights partnered
 

Pfizer collaboration (2008) - lead candidates against up to 10 targets

  • Santaris Pharma A/S responsible for design and delivery of lead candidates
  • Pfizer responsible for pharmacology and further development
  • Upfront/milestones in excess of $800m; FTE funding; and double-digit royalties
  • Worldwide commercial rights partnered
 

GSK collaboration (2007) - GSK options to drug candidates from up to four viral disease programs

  • Santaris Pharma A/S responsible for development to completion of phase 2a trials
  • Upfront/milestones in excess of $700m; double-digit royalties
  • Worldwide commercial rights partnered
 

Enzon collaboration (2006) - lead candidates against eight cancer targets

  • Two clinical stage programs; Development of lead candidates against six additional cancer targets
  • All six drug candidates designed, synthesized and selected within 24 months of signing agreement
  • Upfront / milestones in excess of $200m; high single-digit royalties
  • Santaris Pharma A/S retains commercial rights in Europe; milestones and royalties worldwide
